Okay, so every business on the planet tells its prospective customers that it's different, unique and special.
Quite a few, especially in the internet game, ramble on about being "a unique partner delivering leading edge business solutions that are individually tailored to our clients immediate needs whilst facilitating their longer term strategic goals" or some such meaningless drivel.
We'll give it to you straight
We're an interesting outfit for you to have a chat with because we're really good at what we do and we have an awful lot of fun doing it.
We won't always agree with you. We won't always say yes until we've had a chance to think about any better alternatives to what you've asked us to do. We'll put up challenges to what you have in mind and try to deliver what you need, as well as what you want.
We'll put your users first.
Our work, be it design, innovation or branding is always user centered. We're champions of the customer experience. Sounds obvious, but how many companies products, services or websites do you use every week that just frustrate the pants off you? Usually, it's not even the big things; it's all the little things that collectively add up to a resigned sigh and a sense that it shouldn't have to be this hard to buy/use/achieve/find out about 'X'.
At P&F we'll identify every single point in your user experience that isn't absolutely as good as it can be and then, like an over-excited terrier, pounce on each one in turn and not let go until it's fixed.
We don't believe in requiring the user to change their behaviour to fit in with what we need them to do (it should be the other way round) nor in being clever for it's own sake. We like to create experiences that wrap themselves around how users can best be expected to want to interact with them.
We're delivery focussed.
It doesn't matter how beautiful or groundbreaking something is: if it can never be built or implemented it ain't worth squat. We don't sit in an ivory tower churning out conceptual work that realistically will never see the light of day. We work in the real world delivering stuff that works for you and your users, in the timescales you need it and to the budget you've got.
We'll react to changing requirements.
We consider a brief to be a work in progress. Things change - user requirements, business requirements, technical difficulties - we understand this and can react accordingly.
We're part of your delivery team.
As much as possible we try to work as part of the delivery team, rather than being lofty consultants or an external agency. It's often all too easy to blame someone else if something goes wrong on a project. We like to promote shared responsibility: stuff happens, we'll all work together to find a solution then move on.
We have access to a network of additional resources.
If we can't do it we know someone who can. We have a network of talented freelancers and small agencies we work with which means we can offer our clients the best service and the best people.
We'll give you the best bang for your buck.
We bill by the day, but add up the minutes. If something only takes us 10 minutes to do, we'll only charge you for ten minutes worth.
